Most cats like to graze on their food and will return to the food bowl many times during the day, this is where dry food is useful because it doesn't become stale quickly. However most cats enjoy moist food for breakfast and dinner. If your cat does not eat within a short time, remove the food and provide fresh food at the next meal.

Make sure there is fresh drinking water available at all times, particularly if your cat is eating dry food. However, be careful with milk, as most cats cannot digest the lactose it contains, which can lead to diarrhea.
