Socialising is an important part of your kitten's development as this teaches it how to interact with people, other animals and in the house.

To ease the fear of the unknown for your kitten, introduce them to a wide range of experiences and noises from a young age. Gradual introduction to noisy vacuum cleaners, washing machines, doorbells, new people and other everyday sounds will help them adapt to their new home.

Your kitten should also be exposed to normal outdoor sounds, sights and smells such as traffic and barking dogs, but on a gradual basis so as not to overwhelm them.

Remember kittens are fragile and may need to be supervised when around young children.
