Yes, a kitten will do that, the scratches I have had on hands, arms legs from playing with kittens and cats it's all part of a cats life and yours too if you want to play, that's what cats do. Don't get a puppy as you'll say it's biting you! Give her a soft toy to cuddle and attack while you play and it will take some of the aggression away from you. Your welcome.

Phoebe is just like that too. I have found distracting her with a toy she is allowed to bite or scratch does help. We also found that if she was doing it even when no one was attempting to play with her that if we raise our voice a little and say No Phoebe she seems to be learning that it is not the right time or place for that behaviour (I know it sounds like she is a child lol). we have young children in our house and it has been a challenge for both children and kitten but they are getting there.

My new kitten was like this, very normal. We clipped her nails gently with proper cat claw trimmers. I watched a video on YouTube to get the technique right. Or you can have a vet do it. They grow back, but she won't miss them anyway because she is an inside cat. Now she is a pleasure to play with, her nails are no longer razor sharp and I no longer have cuts on my hands and arms. Also make sure kitten has a scratching post or kiss your sofa goodbye...

My kitten does that too, but she only seems to attack me. She hides behind things and as I walk past she literally launches at me, hip height, with her claws out and bites and scratches me. She never attacks my husband, shes always smoochy to him. I went interstate for two weeks and she even took that opportunity to start sleeping on my pillow. I'm not sure why our cat seems to hate me. She is a rescue kitten, she was found abandoned at around 2 - 3 weeks old. She's being raised around 2 dogs and doesnt have a problem with them either. She just really dislikes me.

Playing with your Cat/Kitten too much will make them a little passive agresive. They are very indapendent and like their on space. If your trying to pat it and she/he nips back you have to give it space and let the Cat/Kitten come to you at its own time.

My mother in laws kitten is very feisty also, actually rather nasty to be honest. I've made him some cat toys to play with and to take out his aggression but it doesn't seem to work. Honestly if I didn't know any better I would say he hadn't been socialised early on with lots of petting and human contact. My little girl on the other hand seems to be very sweet and loving even her playing is gentle. I guess different upbringings. We're hoping that desexing will help calm Rex down.

My kitten also scratches and bites it loves playing but then it gets aggressive just this morning I was sitting on the couch and he pounced up and scratched my nose he does it to anyone that sits in that spot..he bites my ankles as I walk past..very naughty indeed. I give him a smack on the nose and he kind of gets it.
