My darling cat is sick with a mystery illness at the moment.
It may be as benign as muscle strain but is still very upsetting because it has reminded my family that Abby is almost 15 and we will have to say goodbye over the next few years.

Max is nearly 14, he has a few health problems and has a checkup every 3 months, get to know your local vet, some won't bill for a quick visit.

My girl is 16 years old, a stroke survivor and has thyroid, arthritis, and failing eyesight. We have a marvellous team at our Vet practice - and it really is a Godsend to have them. Find a good vet you and Puss feel comfortable with - some like ours even specialise in geriatric pets which is very reassuring. Try not to think about losing your pet - just cherish the time you have with them now - Puss will always be in your heart and remember no one could care for him/her or love them better than you.

Quick update. Abby is ok at the moment and doing as well as can be expected with her renal problems. We are also lucky that we have had the same vet ever since Abby was a kitten and they are very good with her and all know her by name.
Thanks for replying. It's nice to know that there are other pet-owners out there who understand!
