Lately Ella is continually begging for food (no its not worms- she is regularly wormed and has no fleas either). She wakes me up at night scratching on the door and when I get up she runs straight to her bowl. Even when there is food still in it (she is not a big eater) she goes to the cupboard and scratches for more. It is driving me nuts and keeping me awake. Any helpful ideas?

mr maloo is the same, he always wants to be fed, regardless of whether there is food in his bowl or not. If he has dry food in the bowl that has been there for a while (ie if ive put it out for him in the morning and its still there at night) he will refuse to eat that, he wants fresh stuff. Maybe ella is picky like MM? How much do you usually feed her?

I had a tortiseshell cat called Kitty and she wouldn't eat dried food if was not fresh. I'd stir the food in her bowl and add some fresh food and then she was happy. Didn't know the difference.

Hi.
Might be an idea to have the vet check your cat out (especially if she is getting on in years) Might be a thyroid problem.
Good Luck.
