My new kitty Mishka has diahhorea. I have had her for two weeks and at first was giving her a little of Whiskas Kitten Milk as well as Whiskas kitten wet food and biscuits. For the last 4 days I have stopped giving her the kitten milk hoping that would solve the problem. But Mishka still has diahhorea. Does anybody know why my kitty would have this and should I take her to the vet? I'm not really sure what to do about it now. Perhaps I should stop the wet food for a few days as well. I would appreciate any feedback from members who have had this with their kitty. She is about 3 1/2 months old. Thanks, Lynelle (mummy)

Poor little Mishka.

The first thing you should do is steam or poach some chicken and shred it for her to eat. She will love the chicken and it will help to clean out her insides. Continue this for a few days and the problem should clear up rather quickly.

The Milk could be the cause of the problem, some cats just can't seem to stomach it very well. My young cat, Bruce, can handle Whiskas Milk very well however his tummy doesn't agree with any other Whiskas products, except for the Ocean Platter which is his favourite. Try alternating different food to see which ones don't upset her stomach.

Good Luck!

Hi Lisa and Bruce,

Really nice to hear from you guys. Thank you so much for your advice. I haven't tried the shredded steamed chicken yet, as I've just read your post. But what I've been doing for the last week is giving her cat mince from the supermaret and stopped all tinned wet food. I did buy a tray of kitten food on special at a pet stockist but that didn't improve even after I had stopped the Whiskas Milk. So no more milk ever for Mishka (poor baby). Her motions have stabilised - YES!!!!! I will try the cooked chicken as I don't think the cat mince in the supermarket is probably the best for a wee little bubba kitty even though she is now 4 months old. My other kitty Ruby who is about 5yrs old will not eat any Whiskas tinned food that has seafood in it. She won't even cooked fresh fish I've baked in alfoil. However she seems to like the kitten seafood wet food. Weird, so at least I know that the whole tray of kitten wet food will be eaten by Rubes. Thanks again for your comments and hope Bruce is happy and healthy. Hugs.
