Her health and yours
Clean, healthy, happy kittens are unlikely to present any health problems to you or your family. There are a few simple pointers that you can keep in mind:
1. Be sure to wash your kitten’s food bowls separately from yours, keep her away from areas where you prepare food and keep raw meat or fish off her menu.
2. Change her litter daily and clean her tray weekly. Don’t let her into children’s sandpits as, to her, sand = toilet. If she goes to the toilet outside her tray, get rid of the evidence (especially if there are children around).
3. Groom her regularly, and remember the vet knows best when it comes to worming and other treatments. Keep one eye on her all the time and you'll be able to spot if anything's wrong quickly.
4. Finally, don’t let her lick you (or anyone else!) around the face. It's just not hygienic!
Follow these tips and there's no reason why your kitten shouldn’t grow into a beautiful, healthy cat.
