Why Choose WHISKAS® Wet Food

Wet food is one of the simplest ways to nurture the nature in your cat. Naturally rich in moisture, it helps support hydration and urinary tract health - a real benefit for cats, who by instinct drink very little on their own. The tempting aroma and tender texture also make it a favourite with fussy eaters, and it's gentle enough for kittens and senior cats to enjoy.

WHISKAS® wet food comes in a range of formats and flavours to suit every cat and every life stage. Choose from convenient pouches or cans - ideal whether you're feeding one cat or a multi-cat household. Textures include tender cuts in gravy, succulent pieces in jelly, a smooth loaf and more - with a variety of tasty proteins like beef or fresh ocean fish. With recipes tailored for kittens (2–12 months), adults (1+ years) and seniors (7+ years), every bowl is made to feed their curiosity, whatever their age.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is wet food better for cats?

There's no single "better" - only what's right for your cat. Wet food is rich in moisture, which helps support hydration and urinary tract health, while dry food offers convenience and a satisfying crunch . Many Australian vets recommend mixed feeding (one wet meal a day alongside measured kibble) to get the best of both.

How often should I feed wet food to my cat?

Most adult cats do well on two scheduled wet meals a day - morning and evening - totalling roughly 2–3 standard 85g pouches, adjusted to their weight and activity. Kittens need smaller, more frequent meals (3–6 a day), while senior cats often prefer 2–3 smaller, easy-to-digest serves.

Can I mix wet and dry cat food?

Absolutely - for many cats, it's the ideal routine, combining the moisture and aroma of wet food with the crunch and convenience of kibble. A common starting point is around 70% dry to 30% wet by daily ration; just adjust both portions so you're not overfeeding, and introduce any changes gradually.

How should I store leftover wet cat food?

Wet food is tastiest fresh, so serve what they'll finish and don't leave uneaten food in the bowl for more than a few hours. Transfer any leftovers to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to a week, then let it come closer to room temperature before serving to tempt their curious nose.

What's the difference between wet food for kittens, adults and senior cats?

Each life stage calls for different nutrition: kittens need energy-dense, easy-to-eat meals to fuel rapid growth. Adult cats need balanced complete nutrition. Senior cats benefit from gentler textures with extra moisture to support ageing kidneys. The WHISKAS® brand makes recipes tailored to each life stage - 2–12 Months Kitten, 1+ Years Adult and 7+ Years Adult - so they get precisely what nature intended at every age.
